A welcoming and professional legal office

About Malika

A Practice Built Around Listening

We started Malika because families in Bangkok deserved a legal practice that felt human — one that takes time to understand before it advises.

Our Story

How Malika Began

Malika was established in Bangkok by a small team of family law practitioners who had spent years noticing the same thing: people coming through legal offices at some of the hardest points in their lives, feeling hurried, confused, and unheard.

The name Malika means "queen of flowers" in Thai — a quiet nod to something that grows carefully and with time. That is the spirit we try to bring to every matter we handle. We built the practice to be the opposite of the transactional experience that too many families had come to expect from legal services.

From the first consultation through to the close of any matter, we aim to keep communication clear, pacing thoughtful, and the experience as calm as a complex situation allows. We are registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand and have practised family law in Bangkok for over a decade.

Our Guiding Values

  • Listen Before EverythingEvery matter begins with a proper conversation. We do not rush to conclusions or solutions before we understand the situation fully.
  • Prefer Cooperation Where PossibleConflict in family matters carries a cost that goes beyond legal fees. When cooperation is possible, we support it actively.
  • Hold Privacy CarefullyWhat you share with us is protected. We maintain rigorous confidentiality as a matter of both professional duty and personal respect.
  • Speak PlainlyLegal language can make already difficult situations feel more confusing. We explain everything in terms that are clear and accessible.

How We Work

Our Professional Standards

The care we bring to every case is grounded in professional obligations and personal commitment. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Lawyers Council of Thailand

All practitioners at Malika hold active licences with the Lawyers Council of Thailand and meet continuing professional development requirements annually.

Client Confidentiality Protocol

Every person who contacts us is protected by a strict confidentiality protocol. Client information is never shared without explicit written consent.

Transparent Fee Agreements

Before any work begins, we provide a clear written outline of fees and scope. There are no unexpected additions to the cost of your matter.

Child-Sensitive Practice

Where children are involved in family matters, we apply additional care and follow guidance on child welfare standards within the Thai Family Code.

Responsive Communication

We commit to responding to all client enquiries within one working day. You will never be left wondering what is happening with your matter.

Ethical Practice Standards

We hold ourselves to the professional ethics standards of the Thai Bar and decline matters where we believe a conflict of interest may compromise the quality of our service.

Family Law in Bangkok — Handled with Care

Family legal matters in Thailand are governed by the Civil and Commercial Code, and navigating them well requires both technical knowledge and a genuine understanding of the personal stakes involved. At Malika, we bring both.

Our practice covers the full range of family law matters that Bangkok families encounter: separation arrangements, custody and parenting plans, asset distribution, and formal representation in family court proceedings. We work with Thai nationals and international families based in Bangkok, and we are comfortable advising across both contexts.

What distinguishes our approach is the weight we place on clear communication and respectful handling. Legal processes can be disorienting. Our role is to make them navigable — to stand alongside you, explain what is happening, and help you make decisions that are right for your family.
