Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 20 June 2025 · Malika Family Legal Services
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") explain the basis on which Malika Family Legal Services ("Malika", "we", "us", "our") provides legal services and the conditions that apply to use of this website. Please read them carefully.
By engaging our services or using this website, you agree to these Terms. If anything is unclear, please contact us at [email protected] before proceeding.
1. About Us
Malika is a family law practice based at 118 Kamphaeng Phet Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand. We are registered to provide legal services under Thai law and are bound by applicable professional conduct regulations.
2. Scope of Services
We offer family legal services including, but not limited to:
- Private consultations to explore your situation and options
- Support in reaching cooperative family arrangements and preparing related documentation
- Representation and full support in formal family law proceedings
The specific scope of services we will provide to you will be agreed in writing before work begins. We do not provide general legal advice on areas outside family law without prior arrangement.
3. Engagement Process
Our professional relationship begins only once a formal engagement letter or service agreement has been signed by both parties. Enquiries, consultations, or preliminary exchanges do not constitute the start of an engagement. Until a written engagement is in place, no attorney-client relationship exists.
4. Fees and Payment
Our service fees are set out clearly before any engagement begins. Key points:
- Fees are stated in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise
- Payment terms are specified in your engagement letter
- We may require a deposit before beginning work on your matter
- Out-of-pocket expenses (court fees, translation, courier, etc.) will be invoiced separately at cost
- In the event of a dispute regarding fees, please contact us promptly so we can address the matter fairly
5. Your Responsibilities
To allow us to assist you effectively, we ask that you:
- Provide accurate, complete, and timely information relevant to your matter
- Inform us promptly of any changes to your circumstances that may affect your case
- Respond to our communications within a reasonable time
- Not withhold information that could affect our advice or your matter's outcome
We rely on the information you provide. We cannot be responsible for outcomes that arise from incomplete or inaccurate instructions.
6. Confidentiality
Everything you share with us in the course of an engagement is held in strict confidence. We will not disclose your personal or matter information to any third party except:
- With your explicit consent
- Where required by law or court order
- To the extent necessary to provide your services (e.g. court filing, counterparty communication)
Our confidentiality obligations continue after your engagement with us ends.
7. Conflict of Interest
We conduct a conflict check before accepting any new matter. If a conflict is identified that prevents us from acting for you, we will inform you promptly and, where appropriate, suggest alternative sources of assistance.
8. Limitation of Liability
We take care to provide considered, accurate advice. However, legal outcomes are never certain and depend on many factors outside our control. Our liability to you is limited to the fees paid for the specific services in question, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law. We are not liable for:
- Outcomes in court or mediation proceedings
- Third-party delays or actions
- Decisions taken by you in reliance on preliminary or general advice prior to formal engagement
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, layout, and visual elements — is the property of Malika and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without our prior written consent. Documents we prepare for you as part of your matter are provided for your personal or legal use only.
10. Website Use
This website is provided for general information purposes. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created by using this site. We make reasonable efforts to keep information current but do not warrant that content is free from errors or is up to date at all times.
We reserve the right to modify or withdraw website content at any time without notice.
11. Third-Party Links
Our website may link to external websites for your convenience. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. A link does not imply endorsement.
12. Termination of Engagement
Either party may end the engagement with reasonable notice. If you end the engagement, you remain responsible for fees for work completed up to that point. We reserve the right to withdraw from representation where professional obligations, conflict of interest, or other legitimate grounds arise. We will give you reasonable notice and take steps to protect your interests during any transition.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Thailand. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of this website or our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
